Lying weak on my bed, I now know the priceless things one should possess.. oxygen and blood.. not gold and diamond
People plead not to die, but they don't know how to flee
Life is now scarier than death
with each moment making us sit with bated breath
I met many
Some at a junction, some at a pit stop
Some stared, some spoke
Some promised.. to walk along
But I found, eventually not for very long
I met many
Some smiled, some scorned
Some shared ideas, some cursed
Some understood, some fought hard to judge
But never ever I tried to nudge
I met many
Some laughed, some stood with
Some pushed down, some lifted up
Some walked on, some sat by side
Each of them made life an eventful ride
The day I die, I shall have a bed of clouds
The day I die, I shall laugh till my stomach hurts
The day I die, I shall have my song played on repeat
The day I die, I shall eat to my heart's content
The day I die, I shall have butterflies dancing around me
The day I die, I shall hug my love one last time
The day I die, shall thus be the day I truly live..
Today an angel stepped on my foot while walking with her head up
Saying sorry, I saw her eyes all welled up
In a second, she smiled through her tears
when I slowly picked up her teddy bear
She asked 'Aunty, you study here?'
I could do nothing but laugh at her innocence mixed with fear
Planting a small kiss on her chubby cheek, I said I am too big for this school
With wrinkles on her forehead, she felt as if I am making her a fool
She told:
'but teacher said.. noone is big, all of us are small'
I nodded and waved bye to that doll
Looking back to the sweet encounter and the little big things it nudged
I walked down with a smile.. as pure as that soul
